Across 10 virtual modules, you'll explore the core frameworks of reading science — Scarborough's Reading Rope, the Simple View of Reading, systematic phonics, and explicit instruction — and leave with practical strategies you can use in your classroom right away.

Why This Course Is Different

It's completely free, funded through a New York State grant as part of the governor's Back to Basics initiative. The curriculum was developed in collaboration with NYSED and aligned to the department's own standards.
