The inaugural in-person Many Threads One Fabric NYSUT Members of Color Conference aims to unite and empower members of color through the pillars of community, advocacy, organizing, and belonging.

Pillars:

  1. Community Building: Foster a sense of belonging and solidarity among educators of color.
  2. Advocacy: Equip participants with the tools and knowledge to advocate for themselves and their communities.
  3. Organizing: Provide strategies for collective action and grassroots organizing within educational, union, and leadership settings.
  4. Belonging: Discuss best practices for recruiting and retaining members of color in education and as active union participants.
