A former factory worker finds joy in preparing students to pursue their dreams.

Joseph Guadagno is an associate member of NYSUT who works in Western New York. He says: “I retired from 30 years of factory work and decided to share my love of learning with others who thirst for knowledge. I started as a substitute teacher at a few of the local high schools. Later I became involved in assisting adult learners seeking to obtain their GEDs. I enjoy working with students who are returning to the classroom by choice in an effort to make a positive change in their lives and the lives of their loved ones. It brings me great joy when I see my students passing the GED tests and then pursuing their dreams.”
