Danielle Delfanian is a Fulton Teachers Association member who is doing great things. In addition to being an excellent orchestra teacher for her school district, she has made the commitment to help the American Cancer Society support its' valuable work.
Danielle's step-mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1998 and after many rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and a stem cell transplant, she is in remission and a proud 14 year survivor.
In August of 2011, Danielle attended the Syracuse American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer kickoff breakfast. She had been a part of the event the previous three years, and decided that morning to try selling duct tape rose pens to raise money for the event. With the help and support of her family, friends and social networking sites, she was able to raise over $2,500 in just two months.
In February of 2012, she signed a 5-year/$5,000 pledge with the Upstate Cancer Center to support breast care — that is a lot of duck tape roses!
