Baldwinsville teachers raise over $2,000 for flood victims

Author: NYSUT Communications

Members of the Baldwinsville Teachers' Association held a holiday raffle in December that raised over $2,000 for flood victims in New York State. Building Leaders sold raffle tickets for a Kindle Fire to members and others over a two-week period.

Inspired by the success of raffles held each fall at the Regional Leadership Conference, BTA Vice-President and LAP co-ordinator Julie Yando coordinated the raffle with the goal of further assisting those in need. Building Leaders (in picture) were instrumental in selling well over 500 tickets for the Kindle. The BTA LAP committee hopes to make this "Holiday Raffle" a yearly tradition, and already has plans for a bigger, better raffle next December.
