It's an honor
Several members were recently honored by the New York State School Counselor Association. Joyce Connell, Teachers Association of Pleasantville, was named the School Counselor of the Year.
Maureen Rundle and Linda Fortin, members of the Hilton Central Schools TA, received the Career Achievement Award. And United Federation of Teachers members Regine Dejean and Robert Astrowsky (a NYSUT Board member) received the President's Award.
Four NYSUT members on Long Island received the March of Dimes Golden Apple Award recognizing individuals who have made a difference through their commitment to education.
Honored were Linda Trott Dickman, United Teachers of Northport; James Vacca, C.W. Post Collegial Federation; George Ober, William Floyd United Teachers; and Michelle Lambo-Maron, West Hempstead Education Association.
