Seven Regents say it's time to pump the brakes on the revised APPR.
Help get the remaining Regents on our side!
This week, seven members of the Board of Regents called for a delay in the implementation of Gov. Cuomo's controversial teacher evaluation system.
They also asked that it be recalibrated to de-emphasize the weight of standardized tests.
Now we need to tell the other Regents to support that position!
Take action now at the NYSUT Member Action Center to ask the other Regents to join their colleagues in their support for delaying the revised APPR implementation!
Along with their call for a delay in the implementation of the revised APPR, these seven Regents are strongly recommending several more fixes to the governor's broken system. Among them are less emphasis on student testing in teacher evaluations, adoption of NYSUT's recommendations on observation scores, attention to the needs of English Language Learners and students with disabilities, and more.
We strongly applaud this effort by these Regents to take a firm stand on the need to clean up the governor's testing and evaluation mess, but we need their colleagues to join in, as well!
Please take action right now, and help get the remaining Regents on our side!
In solidarity,
Andrew Pallotta
