Three national and state leaders were honored by the American Labor Studies Center for their work in helping to advance the cause of promoting and educating people about the American labor movement and its role in the nation’s history and economy.
Connie Leak, president of the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW), the only national labor union for women; New York State Assemblywoman Patricia Fahy, D-Albany; and Bill Scheuerman, former president of the National Labor College and the United University Professions higher education union for SUNY, all received Kate Mullaney medals for their activism from ALSC director Paul Cole on Tuesday night at NYSUT.
