Cynthia McDaniel, R.N.

Cynthia McDaniel has a long history of leadership in health care within the Federation of Nurses/UFT as well as chapter chair of Jewish Home Lifecare and Hospital Homecare. She has served as a member of the NYSUT Health Care Professionals Council since 2002.
McDaniel is an outstanding registered nurse leader who serves as a RN representative for the Federation of Nurses/UFT. She participates on the federation's negotiating team, political action program and RN leadership training. McDaniel is an outstanding advocate on behalf of all the members FN/UFT serves.
Partnering with the Long Island University Hospital and the city's Health and Hospitals Corporation in mentoring nursing students who attend Long Island University, McDaniel is one of 20 RNs who participated in the program offering one-on-one support to nursing students in person, over the phone or via email. In 2013, McDaniel participated in organizing the GuildNet nurses, part of the nonprofit Jewish Guild for the Blind.
McDaniel's dedication to nursing service was exemplified through her successful effort to get a 98-year-old, unnecessarily bedridden patient out of doors. That's what McDaniel stands for - improving lives, one patient at a time.
