The long awaited sample tasks for grades PreK-8 are are now available for download at the State Education Department Web site.

The sample tasks clarify the language and intent of the associated performance indicators. They are for teachers to use in developing lessons; they are not meant to be test items.

The documents, which were developed by teachers in New York state, are in the Microsoft Word format and are listed by grade level.

These sample tasks are for grades PreK-8. Commencement-level sample tasks will be posted when they become available.
