letsgetitright.orgAFT launches blog for No Child Left Behind

Posted: January 19, 2006

It's clear that there are some big flaws in the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) law.  And many people need to learn the facts.

That is why NYSUT's national affiliate the American Federation of Teachers recently launched a new Web site and blog to generate informed discussions among our members and the public so that we can work for constructive changes in the law in time for the 2007 reauthorization. The name of the Web site itself is based on the AFT campaign to address the problems of the law, NCLB:  Let's Get It Right.

The centerpiece of the new Web site - a blog devoted to NCLB - is a unique vehicle intended to help achieve this public dialogue.  It will offer AFT leaders and members, as well as policy makers and public education advocates generally, a place to go to learn the facts - as documented not only by research but by real people who deal with the law every day through their work in classrooms.

So explore the site , sign the petition, send the link to your friends and colleagues and become part of the blog conversation.

In unity,
Antonia Cortese
AFT Executive Vice President
