SRP Recognition Day

Celebrate SRP Recognition Day, November 18, 2025

It's SRP Recognition Day!

We celebrate our SRPs every day, but today especially.

Today, November 18, 2025, we honor the incredible School-Related Professionals who make our schools run every single day. From early morning bus routes to after-school cleanup, from bandaging scraped knees to serving nutritious meals, from maintaining safe buildings to supporting our classrooms — our SRPs truly Rise to the Challenge.

The response from locals and members across New York has been overwhelming! We've received countless submissions sharing how you're celebrating your SRPs and the difference they make in your schools and communities. Your stories remind us why these dedicated professionals deserve recognition not just today, but every day.

Keep the Celebrations Coming!

The day isn't over yet! Continue sharing your photos and stories with us at social@nysut.org or tag NYSUT when you post your own content on social media. Whether it's a group photo, a special moment, or your unique way of showing gratitude and pride, we want to see how you're honoring the SRPs who help educate, nurture and support our students.

About SRP Recognition Day

Did you know that New York State SRP Recognition Day is the direct result of advocacy by NYSUT members? NYSUT-backed legislation, made possible through the extensive lobbying by NYSUT staff and members, resulted in a permanent SRP Recognition Day in New York. It is celebrated annually on the third Tuesday in November. This year’s date is Nov. 18.

You can download celebration materials on this page to print on your own.
