SED issues "Call for Expertise" on curriculum guidance initiatives

June 15, 2004

The New York State Education Department has issued a "Call for Expertise" to solicit teacher interest in state-level work on curriculum guidance initiatives.

If you are interested in participating in future teacher committees, NYSUT encourages you to complete the online application by visiting the Education Department's Virtual Learning System at http://vls.nysed.gov (click on "Call for Expertise").

Over the years, teachers have worked with the Education Department to develop the New York State learning standards, resource guides with core curriculum, statewide professional development modules, and test items for State assessments. More recently, teachers have also played an important role in reviewing curriculum guidance materials and Regents examinations prior to statewide dissemination.
