NYS Mentor Teacher-Internship Program Grant Application

May 2004

Applications for the 2004-2005 New York State Mentor Teacher Internship Program (MTIP), a competitive grant program, are now available. The MTIP program is a state grant that will enable local school districts or BOCES to develop and implement a mentoring/induction program.

During the 2003-2004 school year, $4 million in funding went to 54 school districts. Please note that while the State Education Department has issued the Request for Proposals, funding for fiscal year 2004-05 is contingent on inclusion of the item in the State budget once it is adopted. The programs must be jointly developed and implemented by the union and local district.

Applications for continuing awards (districts funded during the 03-04) must be postmarked by June 18, 2004; new applications must be postmarked July 6, 2004.

Current MTIP district applicants can access the appropriate application packet at www.highered.nysed.gov/tcert/resteachers/rfp_mentorcontinue.pdf.
