Union salutes its finest

Posted: May 6, 2006

NYSUT annually honors those who help others. Above: NYSUT Vice President Maria Neira celebrates with Ray Harrington, a NYSUT Lifeline Award winner, and daughter Siobhan, whose mom Joan Rogers-Harrington just happens to work in the union's Research and Educational Services Division. NYSUT recognizes members each year who help to save a life. Harrington, a Saratoga Springs TA member, and colleagues Art and Linda Kranick helped stop a student abduction and led police to the assailant.

Fern Stolper and Frances Brown, both of the UFT, enjoy the dessert reception honoring the local unions, retiree councils and individuals who performed a vast amount of community service during the past year.

For a complete listing of honorees, see your RA program.
