Due to structural problems with the South Avenue parking garage - which services the Hyatt and Riverside Convention Center - that garage is closed and South Avenue is closed to traffic between Main and Broad streets. If you were planning to park in that garage or reach the Riverside Convention Center via South Avenue, you will need to make other arrangements.
Delegates at hotels other than the Hyatt or Clarion, which are located adjacent to the Riverside Convention Center, are encouraged to use the shuttle service provided by NYSUT. Shuttles will be leaving every 15-20 minutes during the Representative Assembly from the following hotels: Doubletree Hotel, Holiday Inn Airport, Hampton Inn South, Marriott Courtyard Brighton and Radisson Inn Airport. If you are staying at the Crowne Plaza, across the river, you can park in the adjacent municipal garage, or try the Clarion if you need an alternative.
Shuttle schedules will be available each day at these hotels. There also will be 50 local resident volunteers and several NYSUT employees available at these hotels to answer questions on shuttle service. NYSUT asks delegates to be patient with shuttle service and, in return, NYSUT will make the service as enjoyable as possible. NYSUT has planned several surprises to make the shuttle trips more comfortable and fun.
If you can not take a shuttle and must drive to the Riverside Convention Center, your best bet is to look for parking space at the garage that services the Clarion Hotel, across the street from the convention center.
