A Message from President Hobart
 Dear Local President, Retiree Council President and Board of Directors Member:
Due to the success of last year's concurrent pre-Representative Assembly Local Presidents' Conference and Retiree Council Presidents' Conference, we are formally combining the two this year. Therefore, I am pleased to invite you to join the NYSUT officers and elected local leaders from across the state at a joint conference to be held Wednesday, April 6, to Thursday, April 7, 2005, at the New York Hilton, 1335 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10019.
We will again offer the popular cracker-barrel sessions with the NYSUT officers, as well as special sessions for our retiree, SRP and higher education leaders. The outcome of the November presidential election will greatly impact the program and the topics we will address. Look for updates in future mailings.
There will be a special event Wednesday evening. As always, we encourage you to use this opportunity to continue to network with your colleagues.
This conference will be limited to local and retiree council presidents and members of the NYSUT Board of Directors. This is intended to facilitate small group discussions. I strongly urge you to attend this year's conference and ask your cooperation in observing this limitation.
NYSUT will provide conference meals (Wednesday's lunch, Thursday's breakfast and lunch.) Due to the popularity of dinner on your own Wednesday evening, we will again offer a $50 American Express Gift Check to cover the cost. Board members are not eligible for the gift check as you are able to voucher your dinner. Conference participants are responsible for transportation and lodging costs. Please note, we are not requesting the $100 refundable registration fee this year.

If you register online, please mail any payments (for guest meals or tickets) and a copy of the registration form in the blue pre-addressed envelope to NYSUT, 800 Troy-Schenectady Road, Latham, NY 12110.
