Events help raise cancer research funds September 7, 2006
Do your part to help find a cure this fall. The Teal Ribbon 5-kilometer Run and Walk for Ovarian Cancer Research, sponsored by Caring Together, Inc., an Albany-area ovarian cancer support group, is Sept. 17 in Albany's Washington Park. Visit www.caringtogetherny.org for details. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks are scheduled in many locations around New York in October. NYSUT is a statewide sponsor of the walks. The noncompetitive walks raise funds for breast cancer research and offer hope to those facing the disease. Walks are scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 1, in Buffalo, Binghamton, Rochester and Syracuse; and Sunday, Oct. 15, in 11 other locations, including several in New York City.
