Volunteer travel opportunities abound Nov. 3, 2005 The possibilities, if not endless, are global. Global Volunters, a private, nonprofit international development organization, offers a catalog of overseas and domestic volunteer travel-and-teaching opportunities. Participants pay tax-deductible program and travel costs and volunteer their skills to host communities. The organization looks for educators and retired educators to teach English or work on the building of schools in poor communities from Ecuador to China. Health-care workers are needed, too, to work on projects such as rural health networks and urban clinics. Global Volunteers has been offering "adventures in service" since 1984.
