Social Security truth comes calling
May 12, 2005 The ARA's 'Truth Truck' makes a stop in Rochester. The 'truth truck' has some mail to deliver, and it's dropping it at the offices of congressional representatives in six states in the Northeast. On board are more than 1 million petitions, gathered by the Alliance for Retired Americans, opposing President Bush's plans to privatize Social Security. Generally, congressional Republicans have not appeared to greet the truck, noted Fred Nauman, the president of the New York State ARA.
