| NYSUT praises SUNY Board of Trustees Nov. 9, 2005 ALBANY, N.Y. November 9, 2005 — New York State United Teachers today praised the SUNY Board of Trustees for voting to adopt its 2006-2007 budget proposal. “It’s about time New York state put its money where its future is,” said NYSUT Vice President Alan B. Lubin. “Public colleges and universities and community colleges are the engines that will drive New York's economy; I’m glad the SUNY board wants to put some gas in SUNY’s tank.” NYSUT, the largest union in New York state, represents more than 525,000 classroom teachers and other school employees; academic and professional faculty at the state's community colleges, State University of New York and City University of New York; and other education and health professionals. NYSUT is affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers, AFL-CIO. |
