Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Binghamton take the first steps

UPDATE: Oct. 4, 2006

For the fifth year in a row, NYSUT is a flagship sponsor for the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk" and again has it's sights set on breaking records for participation and funds raised.

The event officially kicked off Oct. 1 with NYSUT members, staff and friends converging on Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Binghamton to do their part to help find a cure.

Besides Oct. 1, the non-competitive 5K walks will be held Oct. 15 at 11 other sites around the state including Albany, New York City, Long Island and Utica.

Last year 6,500 walkers from NYSUT locals participated statewide raising nearly $700,000.

You can register as a walker and raise money online by clicking on a region in the menu bar in the far right column or contact a NYSUT regional office.
