NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards (NPG)

The NIOSH Pocket Guide is a source of general information on several hundred chemicals/classes for workers, employers, and occupational health professionals. The Guide does not give detailed descriptions of chemicals, but it gives important information in shortened or table form for chemicals or classes of chemicals (e.g. cyanides, fluorides, manganese compounds) that are found in workplaces. The Guide can help workers and safety professionals recognize and control occupational chemical hazards.

Information includes chemical group and formula, identification codes, exposure limits, chemical and physical characteristics, incompatibilities and reactivities, measurement methods, respirator selections, signs and symptoms of exposure, and procedures for emergency treatment.
