REC-GCTA
Retired Educators' Chapter
Glen Cove Teachers' Association

The REC-GCTA was established in 1987. Its co-founders are Dr. Miriam Seidman, Ed.D. and Hazel Reukauf. Both were honored by the Chapter for their vision and foresight. The REC-GCTA is a part of the GCTA. As retirees, teacher members are also a part of NYSUT, AFT, ARA (Alliance of Retired Americans), and NYSARA (New York State Alliance of Retired Americans). The REC-GCTA includes retired teachers, administrators, aides, secretaries and has offered membership to cafeteria and custodial retirees. The REC-GCTA is locally affiliated with Retiree Council 19 (RC19).

The purpose of the REC-GCTA is to maintain contact with retirees of the Glen Cove School District. It provides information to and about members through its newsletter: "Connections". The newsletter is sent to members 4 times yearly coinciding with its 4 luncheon/meetings.
