NYSUT Courses

A variety of excellent 3 credit hour courses (reimbursable) are available through NYSUT. NYSUT courses can count toward column movement and are an excellent way to stay current on current trends and strategies for teaching. Search for available courses at the NYSUT Education and Learning Trust website. http://eltweb.nysut.org/iqweb/Visitor/ConEdCourseSearch.asp

CNYTC Teaching Center Courses

Many excellent courses and in-service opportunities are available through the Central New York Teaching Center. Course listings are available in the CNYTC newsletter found on their website. In addition, many grants for conferences, professional development and classroom projects are also available. Visit the CNYTC website for more information. http://www.dreamscape.com/cnytc/

FM In-service Courses

FM In-service courses are offered in a variety of areas such as computer technology, language arts, math, and science. Each 4 hour class earns teachers 1/4 credit toward column movement. To register for classes, log into My Learning Plan (www.mylearningplan.com).

Course Reimbursement and Column Movement

Course reimbursement by the FM district is available for college courses related to your teaching area, nysut courses, and other non-district in-service courses.

You can accelerate your salary advancement by accumulating graduate credits and in-service credits in blocks of 15 credits beyond column 5. FM in-service classes count toward column movement.

All course work needs "prior approval" from the District Office for reimbursement and column movement. Forms are available in each main office.

For more details, check your FMTA teacher's contract.
