| NYSUT and Excelsior College Master's Degree Partnership Programs update: March 1, 2006 The NYSUT Education and Learning Trust has partnered with Excelsior College to offer the college's Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program. The Liberal Studies program combines the college's online course offerings with the Effective Teaching Program's site-based and online courses to fulfill professional certification requirements for most certificate titles. The program requires 33 credits, 15 of which can be completed through courses offered through the Effective Teaching Program and 18 through courses offered by Excelsior College at the college's established tuition rate. The program is divided into three parts or tiers: Tier I: 4 Core Courses = 12 credits through Excelsior College Tier II: Individualized Study = 15 credits through NYSUT - ELT Literacy Concentration

Six credits selected from the approved list of electives. Tier III: Thesis = 6 credits Students work directly with a college advisor to identify, design, and complete a culminating thesis project.
